The chairman of the A.M. Qattan Foundation shares insights from his longstanding philanthropy supporting culture and the arts in Palestine.

Omar Al-Qattan

Omar Al-Qattan began his career as a filmmaker, later joining the family business, Al-Hani Construction and Trading Company in Kuwait, which he now chairs. He is also chair of the A.M. Qattan Foundation (AMQF), which was set up in 1993 by his parents Abdel Mohsin and Leila Al-Qattan.

The foundation focuses on providing Arab and Palestinian children, artists, and teachers with the tools to think critically and to develop their creativity.

Mr Al-Qattan is a long-serving member of the Taawon-Welfare Association, and was also chair of the Palestinian museum from 2012 to 2017.
